Children's Minnesota | Playground Safety

In the fall of 2018, Children’s Minnesota approached us to create three animated videos surrounding child safety with the requirements that the videos must be interpreted without the reliance on voiceover or text to target a wider demographic of non-English speakers.

After wrapping up three videos addressing furniture tipping, falls, and burns, Children’s came back to us with a new prompt in spring 2019 to cover the topic of playground safety.

Because playground accidents occur so frequently in the summer, our client wanted to release this video to help prevent these issues in a timely manner. Unlike the original three Children’s Minnesota videos, this video takes our audiences outside and gave our team the opportunity to really explore character rigging in an incredibly entertaining setting—the playground! The playground we designed not only set the stage for the messages in the video, but also was used in the intro of the video to differentiate from the prior animations and provide the audience a “preview” of the video’s messaging.

Like the past Children’s Minnesota pieces, this video will be featured in emergency and waiting rooms, on social media, at events, and on their website, childrensmn.org.
